Increasing demand of technicians in medical field and lack of all in one compiled educational resource led to the evolution of the Patient Care Technician textbook. This book has been created after an extensive search of PCT technician profession and keeping in mind the new trends and procedures required for the on-job tasks. The authors have tried to keep the book concise and to the point. The knowledge in this Edition has been provided for individuals planning to pursue an Patient Care Technician profession at a postsecondary or college level. The language used in the book is simplistic and somewhat easy to comprehend for individuals to understand the concepts of Patient Care. Phlebotomy and EKG. Various institutions like high schools, post secondary education, community colleges have started using the “Patient Care Technician Textbook: Theory and Practical Fundamentals” since it has the necessary information required to administer a Patient Care Technician Program. The authors have separated the book into 3 sections Section 1: Patient Care Section 2: Phlebotomy Section 3: Electrocardiography (EKG). This would make it easier for school to offer this program in 3 separate sections, without having to override one content with another.
